Garland Summer Musicals

Since 1982, GSM has provided both entertainment and educational opportunities to North Texas.  GSM produces two Broadway musical classics at the Granville Arts Center in downtown Garland, Texas, to over 6,500 patrons each season. GSM is produced by Patty Granville and has been under the direction of Buff Shurr for 30 seasons.

South Pacific is the 2012 GSM Season opener with performances slated for June 15th -17th and  June 22nd - 24th . South Pacific is set in an island paradise during World War II. GSM Guild

The GSM Guild plays a vital role in supporting the Garland Summer Musicals.  The Guild hosts special opening night parties for Guild members along with cast parties and other social functions and fundraisers throughout the year.  A special thank you to all the guild members for supporting the Garland Summer Musicals.

GSM encourages professional artists (through Guest Artist contracts with Actor’s Equity) to work with aspiring performers of all ages, creating a diverse theatre training and semi-professional production company.

Education Opportunities

Education Opportunities

GSM has an educational intern program with Richland College and Tarleton State that creates a professional training ground for aspiring performers and technicians. Each summer, approximately 30 scholarships are awarded, resulting in college academic hours.  GSM’s intern program has educated over 900 area students since 1982.

Congratulations to all the GSM 2012 Column award nominees!  Column awards will be held on Feburary 17, 2012 at the Granville Arts Center!Tony Award winner, Kennedy Center Honoree Chita Rivera will serve as co-host for this year's COLUMN Awards Gala!  Tickets on sale at the Granville box office  972-205-2780.  Hope to see you there!

Summer Camp Program

Summer Camp Program

GSM is proud of their partnership with Dallas Young Artists to offer a three week musical theatre camp at the Granville Arts Center for students in 3rd grade thru 12th grade each summer. The camp brings industry professionals that provide instruction in acting, vocal production and movement. 2012 Summer registration is underway for Fiddler on the Roof!
