South Pacific is the 2012 GSM Season opener with performances slated for June 15th -17th and June 22nd - 24th . South Pacific is set in an island paradise
during World War II. Brian Mathis will star as the French planter Emile de Becque and Morgan Mabry Mason has been cast in the leading role of the spunky Arkansas nurse, Nellie Forbush. Other leading roles include: Terence McEnroe as Luther Billis; Marjorie Hayes as Bloody Mary; Rod Blaydes as Captain Brackett; Aaron White as Lt. Joe Cable and Ron Biancardi as Cmdr. Harbison.
The cast includes: Steve Beene as Henry; Evan Ramos as Lt. Buzz Adams, Jacobe Beltran as Jerome, Paiten Baesa as Ngana. Navy Nurses will be played by: Linda Frank, Caren Sharpe-Herbst; Joy Millard, Aileen McDermott, Josylynn Reid, Lindsey Williams, Erin Elliott and Carolyn Baker. Sailors will be played by: Ryan Amador, Chris Edwards, Mark Quach, Randall Scott Carpenter, Gerard Lucero, Ethan Dunn, Preston Pickett, Justin Alexander Duncan, Michael DeCoursey.
South Pacific is under the direction of Buff Shurr. Staff includes: Musical Director, Larry Miller; Choreographer - Joseph Jones; Lighting Design - Susan A. White; Set Design- Kelly Cox; Props- Lynn Mauldin; Costumes- Michael Robinson and the Dallas Costume Shoppe; Master Carpenter- Joe Murdock; Stage Manager - Gillian Kitchen ; Sound Design – Wes Weisheit; Technical Director- David Webber. Producer is Patty Granville.
All performances are held in the Main Auditorium of the Granville Arts Center, 300 North Fifth Street in downtown Garland
